Throughout the history of the brand, YSL has been inspired by menswear and the pea coat has been a staple for the Yves Saint Laurent woman. The 1962 fashion show opened with the pea coat, which was the first piece he presented under his own name. This fitted, double breasted pea coat is a 1970's version. Crafted from thick black wool, with an oversized notched collar and oversized faux flap front pockets at the hips. The dome buttons are a brass tone metal with a hammered finish. The back has a half belt and a single centre slit vent. Black lining. Excellent vintage condition. Marked FR size 40. Made in France.
